American director shows off his musical talents at Palma Arena
Diminutive US film director Woody Allen played jazz to an audience of 4,000 at Palma Arena on Thursday evening. Allen, 73, known most recently for directing the movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona, played clarinet with his band the New Orleans Jazz Band, to a capacity crowd.
Looking ‘pensive and timid’ and wearing his signature corduroy trousers Allen nevertheless wowed the audience with his band´s Mississippi blues.
Allen has been playing the clarinet since he was a teenager and is more often found performing in small clubs in Manhattan. After Palma his tour moves on to Pamplona.
