David Navarro spent last night in a Valladolid hospital but hopes to return to Mallorca later today after undergoing tests to ensure that no permanent damage has occurred.

The incident took place in the 44th minute when Navarro and Josemi were both trying to get to the ball in a challenge with Valladolid’s Goitom. Navarro received an elbow from his teammate above his eye.

The defender complained of dizziness, a stretcher was called and Navarro was substituted immediately. The player was then taken to a Valladolid hospital, accompanied by both Valladolid’s and Mallorca’s team doctors and will undergo tests before he is allowed to leave. (DM)
